First, Kill All the Lawyers

"In its campaign of 'uprooting the foot soldiers,' the Trump Justice Department has fired or demoted more than two dozen Jan. 6 prosecutors, even as those they sent to prison walk free."

--The New York Times

So, if you break into the Capitol, smear feces on the marbled walls, swing into the chair of the speaker of the House and put your feet up on her desk, engage in what 99% of Americans would call a riot, you are pardoned and considered just an ordinary tourist.

A Day of Love and Joy

But if you do your job as a lawyer at the Department of Justice to enforce the law, you are fired.

Which means, at the very least, Trump's war is not limited to a war on science, but it is also a war on law.

  1. Mad Dog,
How far we have fallen as a country and a democracy when traitorous rioters are absolved of all crimes and diligent prosecutors are punished for doing their job. Trump is not only waging a war on science and law he’s also waging war on democracy, truth, reality and basic human decency….and just think-he’s got three more years to wreak havoc…. So where is the widespread outrage?! When discussing the creep with friends who voted for him, the conversation always devolves into the “what about Biden” dodge…as if there’s any comparison between the actions of the two…

  2. Ms. Maud:
I am not a lawyer, but I don't understand why anyone should obey laws any more. For example, the Dept of Interior stooge sends a letter to the windmill company doing the wind farm off Rhode Island to cease and desist putting up windmills. Why should they stop? What would happen to them if they simply ignored that letter?

  3. The war on democracy is being waged by Hamas supporting leftists who want to commit genocide of the Jewish people. Wake up from your woke delusions!, Trump is saving our democracy from leftist indoctrination of young minds of critical race theory, antisemitism and hatred of western world values. The left has murdered Jews in the streets of America killed corporate executives, rioted, and attacked police, and is attempting to subvert federal enforcement of our laws to protect this nation from a criminal invasion. To deny these facts is to deny reality.

  4. Mad Dog loves to post photos of the rag tag mob who entered the capital because that is the only fact he has to support his inverse leftist logic that feigns moral superiority. Well who exactly attacked the White House in 2020 and federal courthouses and rioted looted and burned American cities at a cost of two billion dollars? Tell us mad dog why do you not acknowledge those events?

  5. And btw the New York Times who you cite with gusto had on its payroll reporters who expressed love of Hitler! Look it up if you doubt that fact.

  6. AI Robot Anon Troll:
Ah, I knew somehow the January 6 traitors would somehow eventually be resurrected as a rescue squad fighting Hamas terrorists in your AI program.
And the "what about" other riots had to eventually emerge--like after Rodney King, George Floyd, MLK and the Boston Massacre? Simply attacking the Capitol (the ultimate goal of the 9/11 terrorists which was saved from annihilation by actual American heroes) is such a beside the point thing.
Yup, knew that had to be coming.
And the failing NYT with all those Hitler admirers/antisemites: never to be trusted, infused as it is with David Brooks, Bari Weiss, Thomas Friedman, Peter Beinart, and Michelle Goldberg!
And why bother, when you've got reliable sources like FOXNEWS, QANON, Storm Front, The Joe Rogan Experience?

  7. Mad dog sorry to correct you in that Bari Weiss was compelled to publicly resign from the Fake News NY times in 2020 given their propensity to engage in antisemitism in their newsroom and in their pages.

  8. Peter Beinard is widely regarded as a raving anti semite as well.

  9. Bot Anon,
Professor Google says Bari Weiss resigned from the NYT over differences re: Twitter and nowhere mentioned was antisemitism in the newsroom.
Apparently, not every adversity which happens to a Jewish person is the result of antisemitism, except, of course, in your case.
Mark Spitz, the splendid Olympic swimmer, for example, is a Jewish person who came in last in the 200 m butterfly in the 1968 Mexico Olympics. He never complained that disappointing and frustrating setback was attributable to antisemitism, but I'm sure you will find a way to link it to antisemitism and some Hamas plot.
He was triumphant at the next Olympics.
Apparently, I missed the "widely regarded" antisemitism of Mr. Beinard--I do see on Google he has decried Israel's actions in Gaza, as have many Israelis.
In fact, the few Israelis I know are also outraged by Netanyahu's assault on Gaza, and at least one of them is now in the process of looking for a new home outside of Israel. He told me he thought Natanyahu is a criminal, a war criminal and that the Israeli far right that currently rules Israel is engaged in ethnic cleansing and genocide and so he's leaving. I have no clear way of judging from my life in New Hampshire, but I gather that there is a significant difference between hating what the current Israeli government is doing and hating Jewish people.
I understand this is one small example of a wider discussion.
I have seen multiple reports from former Masoud and military folks in Israel decrying the current efforts in Gaza as "worse than useless."
But that's just me, looking on from afar.
