Listening to President Trump's press conference driving home yesterday I found myself laughing.

Ukrainian Aggressor |
It was like watching Archie Bunker in "All In the Family" with a little Rush Limbaugh background music.
Ask Mr. Trump about American officials talking with Russian officials in Saudi Arabia to come up with a plan to end the war in Ukraine, and you get an avalanche of braggadocio, including, in no particular order, because there is no particular order in Mr. Trump's speech--it's all stream of consciousness, but you get this stuff:
1/ Ukraine would never have happened if Trump had been President, which he actually was, but wasn't because the election was stolen. Putin would never have had the nerve to invade because, "I told him No! Don't do it." And now it's just all rubble, like Gaza, so why would anyone actuall want to live there, and so many have died and you know it could all have been avoided, but now that it's happened, it would make a great resort, with nice Black Sea ocean front properties and golf courses just about anywhere there aren't mine fields.
2/ Hamas would never have launched October 7 if Trump had been in the office he had actually rightfully won. But now that Gaza is a wasteland it could be a beautiful beach front property, and all those shiftless Palestinians have got to be sent off to Jordan and Egypt, and Saudi Arabia can pay for it all, and while they're at it, maybe they can help Mexico pay for that wall which never got built, but like those casinos, would be just beautiful, had the building ever happened.
3/ Biden was just so incompetent and everyone knew it, and everyone could see it, and any infrastructure that got built was Trump's idea, and all those programs to give money to workers idled by the Pandemic was Trump's idea but would be waste fraud and abuse and Diversity, Inclusiveness and Equity if we did it now.

Ukranian Black Sea Trump Resort |
4/ Europe, which means Scandinavia, France, Britain and Germany and Italy is one big bunch of shirkers who refuse to pay for their own defense and have been free loading off the United States, which should never have contributed a cent to NATO because we have a big ocean to protect us from Russia. Never mind there is a big sky in which ICBM's can fly, because they'd never launch a missile against the USA, as long as Trump is President, which is why Mr. Trump must remain President for life.
And his next cabinet will include Mr. Bolsonaro from Brazil and Mr. Orban from Hungary and Marie LePen from France and the leader of the Proud Boys and a few of those leggy ladies who sit on the white couch at FOX news who have names but seem interchangeable, so why bother learning them and did you know you can catch them by their pink pussy hats?

Department of Homeland Security (Gaza Branch) |
The time on the highway just flew by.
Mad Dog you should thank god that Trump is going to save you from a possible nuclear war with russia - where incompetent Biden was taking us all. The Ukraine war is a threat to the world. Ukraine must disavow future NATO membership and cede some geography. end of story- plain and simple. Watch Trump get it done.
ReplyDeleteBiden did just fine. He saw that the most effective way of dealing with Russia and preventing WWIII was to organize Europe to stand up against Russia in a united front and got Finland, Sweden to sign on and now Russia faces a wall of NATO resistance, which is what Chamberlain should have done at Munich. So Biden was smart enough not to cave to a bully, which is what Trump wants to do--repeat the weak kneed, spineless approach which only emboldens bullies. We don't have a Churchill in America right now, but maybe Europe will provide one. We're back to America First, Lindbergh and the Plot Against America.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what JFK would make of Biden's reckless policy of supporting Ukraine's attack on nuclear armed Russia. JFK calibration in the Cuban Missile Crisis was considered the gold standard of foreign policy until delusional ideologues who think they are defending democracy teamed up with the military industrial neocons, who are profiting billions of dollars from this senseless war, goaded it on. Democracy is defended by NATO, not by a former comedian who has no plan, no hope of victory, and has sacrificed his population to endless grinding of warfare without foreseeable end. The paths of glory lead but to the grave, or did you forget your WWI history lesson at whatever Ivy League school indoctrinated you? Mad Dog
ReplyDeleteWhat does mad dog make of billions of dollars funneled by Biden to Stacy Abrams’s climate nonprofit? I would appreciate your defense of that spending for my entertainment
ReplyDeleteHaven't read about Stacy Abram's non profit.
ReplyDeleteJFK is hardly a paragon of how to get us into and out of a missile crisis. Luckily, a Russian submarine officer saved the world by staying the captain's instinct to launch the missiles.
If you want to look to historical analogues, Neville Chamberlain at Munich is likely more instructive--"Peace in Our Time," from Neville Chamberlain, the prototype of the weak kneed bringing on disaster when stalwart action likely would have humiliated the bully.
Ukraine did not start the war.
Russia did.
Japan dropped bombs on Pearl Harbor, not NDR.
Poland did not attack Germany: Hitler attacked Poland and he made a deal with Russia and Stalin to eat it up. Sound familiar?
Vance and Trump and Tom Cotton and the Plot Against America are right out there.
Zelensky said, "I don't need a ride; I need ammunition."
He's the only brave man in that group of Trump, Vance, Putin and Cotton.
We need a Zelensky to be US President, not this imposter.
Oh my Mad Dog: a lot to unpack with that rambling response. A russian submarine commander saved the US from destruction? Really? What film were you watching? Is that what they taught you in the Ivy League? I think you should learn that there was a quid pro quo with US removing our Jupiter nuclear missile from Turkey in exchange for USSR removing their missiles from cuba. RFK cut the deal. Those RFKs know what they're doing, unlike the senile Biden who has driven the world close to nuclear war. Zelensky you do realize was a professional comedian right? What is his plan to save Ukraine? Have you heard it? Did you know that Russia and Ukraine in 2019 had a multi-BILLION dollar pipeline deal before the war started? Russia was going to pay Ukraine for pipeline access - does that sound like belligerent intention?
ReplyDeleteSee: https://www.rferl.org/a/long-russia-ukraine-reach-five-year-gas-transit-deal/30353000.html
And you do know that that incompetent Biden approved the German pipeline (Nord Stream Two) to Russa that Trump cancelled because Trump was actually keeping Russia and Iran on the ropes? You have glaring gaps of ignorance for someone so highly educated and knowledgeable about leftist rhetorical points. I can give you a syllabus if you like.
Trump was keeping Russia on the ropes?
ReplyDeleteAnd, Oh, those leftist points.
Zelensky seems to have pretty much the same plan Churchill had: fight.
Apparently, the pipeline deal did not stop Mr. Putin from unleashing the tanks.
And yes, the Kennedy's brought the Cuban missile crisis to an end in part by agreeing to remove missiles from Turkey, as anyone with Wikipedia access will know. Hardly need an Ivy League education to know that.
Actually, you hardly need an Ivy League education to know much of anything at all; a youtube subscription, Wikipedia and Google would likely serve you as well as four years at Harvard for most things.
