Volodymyr Zelensky visits the White House, putatively to sign a deal in which Trump buys "mineral rights" for Ukraine's rare earths and other extractables, in return for the United States sending Ukraine armaments to fight the war Vladimir Putin launched on February 24, 2022. Yes, that war. The one Mr. Trump has said was launched by Ukraine, by a dictator named Zelensky.

So, we are no longer in the mindset of, "Oh, this is a democracy being attacked by a dictatorship and we back the democracy." No, we are in the, "I might help you, but first you got to make a deal with me. This is not about democracy. This is about the money."

And Mr. Trump wants Zelensky to kiss his ring, to be "grateful," which the lapdog Vance says is only right--Zelensky should be "respectful."

Trump is not fit to carry Zelensky's muddy boots. The man of the heel spurs, who called John McCain a loser because he got captured lectures Zelensky, the man who stayed to fight, about what's good for Ukraine and that pathetic lap dog Vance whining about Zelensky disrespecting the Oval Office. Yikes, if they can't see this for what it is even in West Virginia and Alabama, then America is nothing close to the land of the free and the home of the brave any more--it's the land of the wee and the home of the knave.

I believe Zakensky showed up in a T shirt and berated his military and financial benefactor. And you are defending Zelensky? Even if his reckless refusal to accede to Trump results in nuclear war with Russia and don’t tell me that is not what he wants as he tried to directly enlist NATO to provide him with air cover. ReplyDeleteI don’t believe the two bullying buffoons in the Oval Office speak for most Americans. There was only one patriot in that office today along with Putin’s two traitorous lap dogs. If I’m wrong and the majority of our fellow citizens support these two, then, for the first time, I’m saddened and ashamed to be an American.

It is hard to understand how anyone could have watched that exchange and not be ashamed to be an American today. Zelensky, who stayed to fight, who never claimed heel spurs, facing a man who is clearly a coward, has to answer for his unwillingness to cave to a tyrant.

If the Ukrainians are ready to capitulate, that is their call.
But my call is we have a man in the White House who can look at a rape victim and ask how much money it would take to make the charges go away.
The most appalling thing is to see those who rush to Trump's defense, that toadie Lindsay Graham and all the rest of the Maga mob.
We have obvious divisions in this country and among citizens, but I would have thought the one thing we could agree upon would be that Putin and his Russian horde are vile and there is no such thing as deal with this particular devil.
Russia has an economy smaller than Canada's.
I can only hope Canada, Mexico and Europe form a new alliance and leave the USA/Russia/Chinese axis to find its own way.
And, maybe 4 years from now that other half of the American people will reassert itself.
